River Plate defeated Olimpia 3-1 in a friendly match played at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires on Saturday afternoon. The match was part of River Plate's preparations for the resumption of the Liga Profesional.
Julian Alvarez opened the scoring for River Plate in the 10th minute, but Olimpia equalized through Derlis Gonzalez in the 25th minute. Matias Suarez restored River Plate's lead in the 35th minute, and Ezequiel Barco sealed the win with a goal in the 80th minute.
River Plate dominated the match from start to finish, and they created several chances to score more goals. Olimpia goalkeeper Alfredo Aguilar made several good saves to keep the score down.
The win will give River Plate confidence ahead of the resumption of the Liga Profesional. They will face Sarmiento on July 10th in their first match back in action.
