Carson Beck Falls In Heisman Odds

Carson Beck Falls in Heisman Odds

Georgia Quarterback Steals Spotlight From Ohio State Signal-Caller

Carson Beck has fallen out of the top 10 in Heisman Trophy odds after a lackluster performance in Ohio State's season-opening win over Notre Dame. Beck, who was once considered the favorite to win the award, is now listed at +2000 to take home the trophy, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

The drop in odds comes after Beck completed just 18 of 35 passes for 223 yards and no touchdowns in the Buckeyes' 21-10 victory. He also threw two interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown.

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett has emerged as the new favorite to win the Heisman Trophy after leading the Bulldogs to a 49-3 victory over Oregon in their season opener. Bennett completed 25 of 31 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Other quarterbacks who are considered contenders for the Heisman Trophy include Alabama's Bryce Young, USC's Caleb Williams, and Texas A&M's Haynes King.

The Heisman Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding player in college football. The winner is selected by a vote of sportswriters and former Heisman Trophy winners.

Beck is still considered a talented quarterback with a lot of potential. However, his performance in the season opener has raised some concerns about his ability to lead Ohio State to a national championship.

The Buckeyes will need Beck to play better if they want to compete for a title this season.

Here are some of the reasons why Beck's Heisman odds have fallen:

  • Poor performance in season opener
  • Two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown
  • Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett has emerged as a strong contender
  • Other quarterbacks, such as Bryce Young and Caleb Williams, have also impressed

Beck will have a chance to improve his odds when Ohio State faces Arkansas State in Week 2.
