The men's 5x5 basketball tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics will be the 21st edition of the event for men at the Summer Olympic Games.

History

Basketball at the Summer Olympics has been a sport for men consistently since 1936. Prior to its inclusion as a medal sport, basketball was held as an exhibition sport at the 1904 Summer Olympics and the 1924 and 1928 Summer Olympics.

Teams

The 12 participating teams will be determined through a series of qualifying tournaments.

Format

The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will advance to the gold medal game, while the losers will play for the bronze medal.

Schedule

The tournament will be held from 27 July to 11 August 2024.
